      Benefits could include:

  • LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)

  • Assistance for medical prescriptions through LIS (Low Income Subsidy)

  • SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)

Social Security Express

HOPES CAP, Inc. joins with the Social Security Administration to provide a link to Social Security Express. Social Security Express is a one-stop shortcut to a specific suite of services such as:

• Get my Social Security statements

• Appealing a Decision

• Retirement Estimator

• Apply Online for Social Security Retirement or Medicare

• Apply Online for Disability

• Extra Help

Assisted Living Options for People with Disabilities and Seniors

HOPES CAP, Inc. joins with Assisted Living Research Institute to provide a link to their guide Assisted Living Options for People with Disabilities and Seniors. This guide includes:

  • Care Options for Seniors and People with Disabilities, such as Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Home Care.

  • Financial Support Options, such as Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, HUD Resources.

  • State Support Resources.

  • Free cellular phone and free service each month for

     income eligible individuals

  • Official application agency for SafeLink Wireless

  • Assistance with the application process

  • Follow-up support

     Eligibility:

  • Based on income

  • Current proof of income, for 4-weeks (paystubs or notarized letter from employer)

Benefits Enrollment Center (BEC)

Energy

  • Official application agency for NJ SHARES program

  • Assistance with energy bills

  • Upon approval, a one time grant of

    • up to $700.00 for their heating source and

    • up to $500 on their electric account

  • Energy grants are applied directly to the bill

     Eligibility:

  • Based on income

  • A demonstrated financial crisis

  • History of good-faith energy bill payments

  • Current proof of income, for 4-weeks (paystubs or notarized letter from employer)

Water - H20 Help to Others

  • Official application agency for United Water Cares and New Jersey American Water

  • Assistance with water bills payments

  • Upon approval, a grant of up to $100 through United Water

  • Or a grant up to $500 through American Water

     Eligibility:

  • A good faith payment of $100.00 on their account within 90 days of applying

  • Total monthly household income may not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Level

  • Current proof of income, for 4-weeks (paystubs or notarized letter from employer)

  • Use the calculator to determine if you are eligible (below 100% FPG), Eligibility Calculator (opens a new tab)

Water - Low Income Payment Program (LIPP)

  • Extension of H20 Help to Others

  • Aid can be equivalent to as much as 20% of a customer’s monthly bill, depending on customer eligibility

     Eligibility:

  • The total monthly household income may not exceed 175% percent of the Federal Poverty Level

  • A good faith payment of $100 on their account within 90 days of applying

  • Current proof of income, for 4-weeks (paystubs or notarized letter from employer)
